More BlackBerry shortcuts

Did you know you can drastically cut down on your BlackBerry thumbwheel navigation?  I learned this trick from a BBGeeks post on the subject.

First, disable phone home screen dialing by going into your phone app, pressing the BlackBerry menu, selecting Options / General options. From the General options menu, select the drop down next to Home Screen Dialing and set it to off.

Now, here’s a list of all you can do by keyboard from your home screen:

A = Address Book
B = Browser
C = Compose Message
D = Memo Pad
F = Pro Files
G = Google Talk (if you have it installed, obviously)
H = Help
I =
AOL Instant Messenger (if you have it installed)
K = Lock
L = Calendar
M = Messages
N = BlackBerry Messener
O = Options
P = Phone
R = Alarm
S = Search
T = Tasks
U = Calculator
W =
WAP Browser
X = Windows Live Messenger (if installed)
Y =
Yahoo Messenger (if installed)

Also, if you’re on Bold OS 4.6, holding Q (#) will switch between Vibrate and Normal profiles, and holding A (*) will lock the device.

All this info is per this post at BBGeeks.  They’ve got some great tips — check ‘em out!
