What I’m Looking At: Skype

I’m looking at you, Skype. And it’s not a happy look.

Skype has been having some issues this past week or so. My first clue? Receipt of emails hourly letting me know Skype had docked another $25 from my bank account. Again. And, again.

Tech support at Skype isn’t groovy, and my experience included a tech who was overseas, working from a script, unable to process outside that script, and without a solid grasp of the English language.

Paypal wasn’t making it easier

Paypal’s site has also had some hiccups. When I tried to disable Skype from autocharging my Paypal account, it directed me to Paypal. Paypal wasn’t properly serving up the portion of their site that allowed me to disconnect pre-authorized charges. It was all pretty frustrating.

Bigger issues

As I write this, Microsoft has suspended Skype password resets after account-hijacking report.

Want to make a call or chat online? I’m heading over to Google chat and Google +.
